Virtual. While cognitive decline can be a feature of aging, emerging science is revealing the role of nutrition in preserving cognitive health and preventing some of the top neurological conditions such as Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s diseases. In this virtual series, Plant Powered Metro New York will feature leading physicians, researchers, and health coaches to explore the remarkable connection between what we eat and the vitality and resilience of our brains. Offering practical learning and lifestyle tips in the kitchen and the grocery store, Nourish Your Mind will empower you to optimize your well-being and quality of life.

To wrap up our three-part series, we’ll go into the kitchen with Laurie Courage, an experienced health coach, to explore the practical ways of making whole plant foods a central part of meals. Laurie will demonstrate simple meal ideas filled with fiber, healthy fats, and plant-based protein, while sharing tips for overall cognitive health, and for Parkinson’s and Alzheimer’s. Then, enjoy a virtual shopping tour to discover ingredients for brain-healthy meals, with PPMNY’s Karina Pearse and Sergio Villavicencio.

Presenter: Laurie Courage and PPMNY’s Karina Pearse and Sergio Villavicencio

Presented in partnership with Plant Powered Metro New York, the Michael J. Fox Foundation, Riverdale Senior Services, JASA and the Lewy Body Dementia Resource Center.
