Children’s Book Drive | Mon, Jan 20–Fri, Jan 24

Embrace the magical power of books to transform children’s lives! In partnership with the office of New York City Council Member Gale Brewer, the JCC will collect new and very gently used books for children up to age 13 in our lobby from Mon, Jan 20–Fri, Jan 24. Books will be distributed at our Children’s Book Fair on Sun, Jan 26, from 1–4 pm in the JCC Lobby.

We can accept all children’s books in good condition. We especially need children’s books in Spanish and French.
We cannot accept adult books, textbooks, encyclopedias, magazines, or children’s books in poor condition (ripped, stained, written in, mildewed, or water-damaged).

Children’s Book Fair | Sun, Jan 26, 1–4 pm

Embrace the power of books to transform our lives! Shop for free, gently used children’s books at our annual fair, offered in partnership with the office of New York City Council Member Gale Brewer. Bring an empty bag and fill it with new favorites.

Donate New and Gently Used Items

The JCC works in close partnership with local schools and nonprofits to meet community needs. As part of this effort, we periodically collect items like books, clothing, and personal hygiene items for distribution to individuals in our community. You’ll find a list of upcoming drives below:

  • Children’s Book Drive | Mon, Jan 20–Fri, Jan 24, 2024
  • Spring Community Recycling Day | Sun, May 4, 2025
  • Spring + Summer Children’s Clothing Drive | Sun, May 4–Sun, May 18, 2025

Have items you want to donate?

If the JCC is not currently collecting them, visit donateNYC, Council Member Gale Brewer’s website for ongoing collections, or St. Paul & St. Andrew's drives for other ways to donate.
