At The Carole Zabar Center for Film, we present previews and special engagements of films that are important to our community. Through fiction and documentary movies, we not only seek to entertain, but to create change and impact. Exclusive weekly screenings include our year-round series, as well as film festivals including Cinematters: NY Social Justice Film Festival, ReelAbilities Film Festival: New York, Other Israel Film Festival, and the Israel Film Center Festival.

Our post-film Q+A conversations are a highlight of our film program, featuring in-depth conversations with filmmakers, actors, and other special guests.

Tickets must be purchased before your arrival at the JCC.

ReelAbilities Film Festival

ReelAbilities Film Festival, held in April each year, is the premier international film festival dedicated to promoting awareness and appreciation of the lives, stories, and artistic expressions of people with disabilities.

Israel Film Center Festival

The Israel Film Center Festival, founded in 2012, runs every June at the JCC, and is the largest festival of Israeli films in New York City. We celebrate and showcase the best new Israeli films, and the festival also includes post-screening conversations with filmmakers and actors, red carpet opening and closing nights, and other special events.

Other Israel Film Festival

The Other Israel Film Festival is the only American film festival focused on both Israeli and Palestinian cinema. It presents film and television that take an in-depth look into Israeli and Palestinian societies, and champion marginalized voices within Israel.
