In Person at JCC Harlem. Through everyday conversations, stories, songs, and games, this interactive beginner Hebrew language class will introduce children to basic conversational Hebrew and help them identify Hebrew letter names and sounds and decode syllables and words.

Our Instructor: Zohar Amar Mokady is excited to teach Hebrew classes at JCC Harlem, sharing his love of the Hebrew language with the next generation. Zohar has taught Hebrew at Congregation Beth Elohim and Park Avenue Synagogue, where he has worked with students ages 4-12 and developed a passion for helping young learners connect with the Hebrew language and Jewish culture. At JCC Harlem, he will aim to build a strong foundation in Hebrew fundamentals, including reading, writing, and conversational skills, through interactive activities like games, songs, and storytelling.

Zohar earned his Master's Degree at the Manhattan School of Music, where he trained as a pianist and saxophonist. He brings a strong educational foundation to the classroom. With over 10 years of experience teaching music, he has developed engaging instructional skills that he applies to Hebrew education.
