LGBTQ+ PD Support Group was founded in 2021 through the Michael J. Fox Buddy Board. Dan Cohen and his husband Lou started the LGBTQ+ PD Support out of a personal need to find support for themselves while living with PD. It is mainly a social group.  Each virtual session includes a check-in to talk about how things are going, an opportunity to share experiences with medication and exercise and provide a space to listen and witness each other's journey.  We also laugh a lot, because the people in the group are LIVING with PD.

Although Lou passed away from complications associated with Lewy Body Dementia in November 2023, the support group lives on and is facilitated by Dan Cohen.

Dan Cohen is a professional facilitator and trainer.  He is a certified instructor of courseware in Emotional Intelligence, Leadership, and Project Management.  His interest in working with folks with PD is an outgrowth of love.

This virtual group meets on the first and third Thursdays of each month at 7 pm via Zoom.
