Morning Ballet with SammyJDance (18 MOS-2.5 YRS) at JCC Harlem
In Person at JCC Harlem. An introduction to ballet positions and techniques through an innovative approach that encourages young dancers with big imaginations. Highly encouraged for siblings! Comfy clothes and bare feet suggested; leotards and ballet slippers welcome. We ask that caregivers remain in the classroom for this experience. SammyJDance’s unique program uses dance and music to help young children learn and practice developmental skills.
Imagination and self-expression, encouraging children to grow physically and emotionally are at the core of the SammyJDance program. Without realizing they are learning, dance enhances their classroom experience. Samantha McLoughlin is originally from Edmonton, Alberta Canada. She moved to Calgary, Alberta to train at Decidedly Jazz Dance Works, completing the professional dance program. She then danced professionally for the Ballet Creole Dance Company in Toronto, Ontario. Samantha came to New York in 2011 to train at Alvin Ailey American Dance Theatre. Upon her graduation, she danced for companies like ARIM Dance, Mare Nostrum, and Shadow Box Theatre. She was also as a performer for Rumbamena Dance Company and Total Entertainment. Samantha McLoughlin is currently on faculty at Mark Morris Dance Group and Peridance in New York. She is a former Dance Theatre of Harlem faculty.
