In Person. Delve deeply into fundamental and intermediate skills of both hanbulding and throwing functional pottery and non-functional objects. In this class students will learn essential handbuilding techniques such as pinching, coiling, and slab construction. These skills can be used to alter wheel thrown pieces, or to create functional and sculptural work. Spend time developing trimming/finishing techniques for leather-hard (half-dried) pottery for a clean and polished look. Intermediate students are welcome to request more specific demos once the basics of the course have been covered.
