In Person. This experiential course introduces the basic principles, theology, literature, and ritual/spiritual practices of Judaism through discussions and exposure to traditional texts, contemporary readings, and real-life Jewish experiences. Become part of a strong, supportive, cohort-based community you will learn and grow with. Basics of Judaism is a great introduction to Judaism for those exploring conversion and an opportunity for those who grew up Jewish to learn what it's all about. Individuals and couples are all welcome to join. The class will include field trips and a Shabbat dinner at the JCC.

Rabbi Daniel M. Bronstein, Ph.D., is a scholar and educator who teaches at Hunter College and the 92nd Street Y in New York City. His dissertation, Torah in the Trenches, examined the rabbinical military chaplaincy during World War II. He lives in Brooklyn, N.Y., with his family.
