We will delve into the world of tailoring, patterns, custom-made designs, knitwear, and finishing techniques. Each student will create an advanced sewing techniques sample book, custom patterns, a T-shirt, and a custom button-up shirt. Additionally, we will explore various fabric types and their applications, and learn about professional sewing tools and their uses. By the end of the workshop, students will have a comprehensive understanding of advanced sewing techniques and the confidence to tackle more complex sewing projects. Hilla Shapira is a costume designer and multidisciplinary artist originally from Tel Aviv, Israel, who is currently based in Brooklyn, NY. Her work explores the relationship between common design and body regimen, and questions design norms and the political aspects of everyday objects.
