Janet R. Kirchheimer, Teaching Fellow, CLAL

Have you ever wanted to write down your life story? Join Janet R. Kirchheimer for a memoir workshop. Whether you want to write for yourself or your family or want to begin a memoir, a wide variety of writing exercises, music, and prompts will get you started. In this class, you will generate new work each week. The work of other writers, as well as articles about writing, will be reviewed, and there will be time for conversation.

Janet R. Kirchheimer is the author of How to Spot One of  Us (CLAL, 2007) and coauthor of the forthcoming Seduction: Out of Eden (Kelsay Books, 2022). Her website is www.janetkworks.com.

Student Testimonial: I didn’t know if I had a story to tell and, if I did, if I could craft a narrative compelling enough for anyone to want to read it. Luckily for me, I found the JCC’s A Memoir-Writing Workshop. The class is a beautiful gift of transformation, and I saw personal reflections and scribblings about life blossom into readable prose. If you have even the slightest interest in creative writing, I highly recommend this class.
