Lurie’s Life Lines
Dir. Julia Wahren, Rudolf Herz
(Germany, 2024, 73 min)
Boris Lurie (1924-2008), a New Yorker from Riga, concentration camp survivor, and artist. He collages images of piles of corpses with pin-ups and attacks fascism, racism, sexism. He writes poetry that blends horror and lightness, unique among other works that deal with surviving the Holocaust. This film combines text, art, and an experimental music performance into a scenic-graphic-visual unit.
