Holidays

The JCC offers exciting and thoughtful programming for each of the major Jewish holidays. Offerings include programs such as High Holiday cooking classes, Sukkot festivities in our Rooftop Sukkah, candle lightings in the lobby for each night of Chanukah, Purim parties for all ages, Passover programming, and more.

Annual Programs

Yom Hashoah

Each year, the Upper West Side community gathers to read the names of those among the six million murdered Jews. The reading begins on the eve of the holiday and continues throughout the night with representatives of Upper West Side congregations and other members of the community. It resumes in the morning at the JCC, ending with the recitation of the kaddish. Come read or witness by your presence.
