Russian Language Programs (4-10 Yrs)

School Age Russian Speaking Programs

Shabbat Club 3-5 Years

Dec 4-18, 4:30-5:15 pm. Sing songs in Russian led on guitar by leading Jewish educator Zhenya Lopatnik. This weekly class will begin with song and explore the larger themes of Shabbat and the holiday of Chanukah. Storytelling, including through the unique medium of sand art, will be utilized to visually enrapture children who are eager for something new on the screen. The class will be intimate and interactive with lots of visual stimuli, and will conclude each week with candle-lighting, challah, and grape juice--as well as menorah candle lighting during Chanukah. A surprise present will be sent to each family before the last class.

Please note that the Zoom link information will be included on the bottom of your registration confirmation that is emailed to you. You will also be emailed the Zoom information the day of the program.

Shabbat Arts 6-10 Years

Dec 4-18, 4:30-5:30 pm. Generation R and its beloved Shabbat Ceramics teacher, Anya Marfin, invite you to join a special month-long class in drawing and painting. Learn the fundamentals of media and brush up on your strokes if you are beyond the basics, and discuss Jewish symbolism around holidays and tradition. Anya will personalize the experience and make sure each child is guided individually, imparting a fun atmosphere for everyone to work in; the class will be kept to a minimum of 6 or 7 students in order to keep an intimate feel. Subjects will include Judaica, wildlife, and portraiture. Anya, a Russian-Israeli American, Parsons-educated teaching artist fluent in three languages, will lead the class exclusively in Russian.
