Children's Class FAQs + Policies
SESSION DATES
Fall Session: Runs from September–January, registration opens mid-May.
Winter / Spring Session: Runs from mid-January to early June, registration opens in November.
Summer Session: Runs from late June to early August, registration opens in April.
POLICIES
Children and Families Class Make-up Policy
Make-up classes vary by program and are based on availability. At the beginning of each semester, you will receive a letter from the program director outlining the make-up policy for the class and instructions for scheduling. Swim class make-up policies are outlined below. Make-up classes are subject to availability and must be redeemed before the end of the class semester.
Swim Make-up Policy
We are happy to offer one swim make-up class per session to each swimmer. Make-up classes are based on available space. Thank you for understanding that we cannot accommodate exceptions due to the volume of JCC swim program participants and the class capacity/health and safety standards we maintain. Children + Families Program Cancellation Policy*
- The Marlene Meyerson JCC Manhattan operates on a credit-only policy and does not issue refunds. Credit can be redeemed for any program at the JCC, used by any family member on your account, and carries no expiration date.
- Any withdrawal or change in a semester-long class incurs a $50 processing fee.
- Cancellations or withdrawals after the second class of the semester are eligible for a 50% credit.
- Cancellations after the sixth session of the semester are no longer eligible for credit.
*Turning 2s, Camp, After School Clubhouse, and Nursery School have separate policies regarding withdrawal and cancellation.
Turning 2s Registration Policies
- Turning 2s runs from September to June and is a full school-year commitment. Payment for the fall semester is due upon registration, and payment for the winter/spring semester will be charged on November 1.
- $1000 of the initial payment serves as a non-refundable deposit.
- Families who withdraw prior to June 1 will be eligible for a credit, less the $1000 non-refundable deposit.
- Cancellations after June 1 are not eligible for any credits or refunds.
For families registering for the January to June session only
- Payment for the program is due upon registration and $1000 of the payment serves as a non-refundable deposit.
- Families who withdraw prior to November 1 will be eligible for a credit, less the $1000 non-refundable deposit.
- Cancellations after November 1 are not eligible for any credits or refunds.
Summer Turning 2s
- Payment for the program is due upon registration and $500 of the payment serves as a non-refundable deposit
- Families who withdraw prior to April 1 will be eligible for a credit, less the $500 non-refundable deposit.
- Cancellations after April 1 are not eligible for any credits or refunds.
After School Clubhouse Registration Policies
- Payment for each semester of After School Clubhouse is due upon registration.* If registering by day, $200 per day registered serves as a non-refundable deposit. If registering for Mon–Thu, $500 serves as a non-refundable deposit.
- Cancellations or withdrawals through the third week of the semester are eligible for a 50% credit.
- Cancellations after the third week of the semester are no longer eligible for credit.
*If you are registering using a payment plan, the first payment will serve as the non-refundable deposit.
Stroller Policy
Bringing a stroller to the JCC is at your discretion and comfort. All strollers must be parked and remain outside the building in designated areas for the duration of your visit. In addition to our 24/7 onsite security, the JCC has a record of communal vigilance and safety around our premises.
Emergency Contact Information
Emergency Contact information is required for all children attending drop-off classes. Click here to add this information to your JCC account.
Photo + Video Policy
The Marlene Meyerson JCC Manhattan and/or its agents may record and/or photograph performances and classes for archival or other purposes, including promotion. Such recording and/or photographing may include audience pictures or class participants. Your attendance and/or participation shall be deemed your consent to appear in such programs and/or photographs without compensation.
DISCOUNTS*
Multiple Class Discount: Enroll your child in more than one season-long class within the same semester, and receive a $50 discount off each additional class.
Sibling Discount: When two or more siblings register for the same class and section, the second sibling is eligible for 10% off the cost of the class.
*Discounts cannot be combined and cannot be stacked with other promotions. Clubhouse, Swim, Camp, Nursery School, and Pre-Nursery programs are excluded from these discounts.
