Updated COVID-19 Policy

(September 12, 2022)

As we enter a new program season, and as we are the cusp of a new year on the Jewish calendar, we look forward to new beginnings. With the worst of the COVID-19 pandemic behind us, we have the opportunity to find the path back to some sense of normalcy and to relax some of the vigilance that was, for the last two and a half years, the necessary norm.

We have met with our medical committee to ensure that our policies are meeting this new moment. With their guidance, we are slightly shifting our COVID-19 policies. Beginning Monday, September 12, we will no longer check vaccination status for those enrolling in our programs or entering our spaces.

We make this decision based on the endemic nature of COVID-19, and in alignment with the latest medical and scientific opinions. We know that our population has among the highest rates of vaccination in the nation, and we also know that wearing a well-fitted KN95 mask protects the wearer from those around them regardless of their personal choices. Finally, we are attuned to the reality that the world around us, whether schools, public transportation, restaurants, museums, theaters, houses of worship, and more, have moved into an endemic framework in their approach.

Should there be a reason to shift this policy, based on the recommendations of our medical committee, we reserve the right to do so. Thank you for your continued commitment to the JCC.
