Internship Programs
The Community Work Experience is a four-day-a-week, six-month internship opportunity that allows participants to gain meaningful work experience in three different departments within a business setting. The goal of the internship is to prepare participants for employment. There are three eight-week rotations in various departments in a number of industries, including hospitality, real estate, mailroom, print shop, and library. Three days each week are spent working, and the fourth day includes Social Skills in the Workplace, a workshop that outlines and formalizes the goals practiced at the internship site. Topics include making a good impression, problem-solving and asking for help in the office, taking the perspective of colleagues, and more. These topics are then individualized and practiced at the internship site. An onsite job coach provides support to participants as well as to department supervisors to facilitate onboarding and the structuring of the work day.
Please note: A limited number of internship spots are available. An interview and intake are required for participation.
For individuals currently enrolled in ACCES-VR, we offer employment services leading to integrated employment.
