Co-presented by JCC Harlem and Columbia Greenhouse Nursery School, join us for a discussion-based support group for anyone in a parenting role to a child under the age of two (with flexibility for families with kids older than two who are interested in participating). This safe, supportive group will meet at JCC Harlem on a weekly basis for six weeks this fall, bringing parents together to share, learn, and connect with others experiencing the similar joys and challenges of parenting young children.

This parent support group is meant to be a lively, supportive, engaging space, without judgment, filled with connection, laughter, learning, and, hopefully, a slight reprieve from the inherent pressures found in parenting a young child in New York City in 2022. Our time together will be responsive to the needs and interests of the group; topics of exploration and discussion could range from feeding to sleeping to self-care, and more. We envision an environment of inquiry, engagement and support that will help parents co-construct their own ideas and values as they parent in today’s world.

Each session will be facilitated by Renee Mease, director of Columbia Greenhouse Nursery School, an expert in early childhood development with over 30 years experience supporting parents and young children.

This group will launch with an Open House drop-in event on Oct 21, then run for six weeks beginning Nov 4 (Nov 4, 11 + 18, Dec 2, 9 +16).

This program will take place in person and indoors at JCC Harlem (318 W. 118th St.).

It is of deep importance to us that our programs be financially accessible for all. If your family would like to discuss financial assistance for any of our programs, please email scholarships@jccharlem.org.
