Dominique Bousquet, LMT

This introductory session will acquaint you with the practice of mindfulness as taught in the 8 week Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) program developed by Jon Kabat-Zinn at the Stress Reduction Clinic at UMass Medical Center, and taught at the JCC by Elaine Retholtz. You will learn how this evidence-based practice has become an accepted part of mainstream medicine, and discover how it can positively affect the quality of your everyday life. The session includes an introduction to the course, some gentle movement, guided meditation practices, and group dialogue. It is suitable for those coming to meditation for the first time or experienced meditators who realize they have not yet integrated these practices fully into their lives.

Dominique Bousquet is a licensed massage therapist and the clinical director of Cancer Care Massage at JCC Manhattan.
She has been a meditator for 16 years, and is on the MBSR Teacher Training path at the Mindfulness Center at Brown University.
