Please note: this is an IN-PERSON, OUTDOOR EXPERIENCE. Please read our important notes on our COVID-19 protocols below the program description.

Movement is the key to stimulating brain development in young children. Infants and toddlers not only benefit from Blooming Bébé developmental movement classes, caregivers also get the opportunity to bond with their baby as well as our community. During classes, children move through natural movement patterns via exercises and dance encouraging language as well as cognitive, social and emotional development. Utilizing several age appropriate props, infants and toddlers move to a variety of dynamic music and work on rhythm while playing with instruments. This class will be led by Blooming Bébé Movement Teacher, Samantha and Djembe Player Jojo.

JCC Harlem will also be selling optional "Move and Shake Bags" filled with items to get your little one moving and shaking with us - and to keep it up at home, too! Move and Shake Bag purchase is OPTIONAL. Facilitators will provide any items (shakers, scarves, rhythm sticks) you need for the duration of each class.

COVID-19 and Outdoor Program Protocols: PLEASE READ

This is an in-person, outdoor experience. The class will take place in the lot just adjacent to JCC Harlem. The following COVID-19 protocols will be strictly enforced:

- We will have designated "pods" within which you and your household/guests are required to stay for the duration of class (but feel free to move, shake, and dance as much as you want within your pod!)

- Masks, fully covering your nose and mouth, will be required for all participants 2 years and older. Per CDC guidelines, participants under 2 years old are not required to wear masks.

- At this time, participants will not be allowed inside JCC Harlem for any reason, including to use the restroom.

- Classes will not be rescheduled due to inclement weather, nor moved indoors. If more than two classes in the series are cancelled by JCC Harlem for any reason, we will offer you a refund or JCC credit for those classes (beyond the first two cancellations). Should a class be cancelled, you will be notified by email by 9am the morning of.

- The JCC has recently implemented a new "Pay What You Wish" system, allowing for greater financial accessibility. Our new pricing options also account for the possibility of cancellations due to inclement weather and the greater unpredictability of running outdoor programming. Should you have any questions about payment options, or like to request additional financial assistance, please be in touch with Kennedee at

The “Pay what you wish” feature ensures that JCC programs can be accessible for the entire community. Programs at the JCC take time, energy, and resources to create and we hope you will pay an amount that is both comfortable for you as well as acknowledges the efforts and resources of our staff and speakers. Payment through “Pay what you wish” is not a tax-deductible donation since goods/services will be provided.

Registrations are processed on a first-come, first-served basis.
