Join the Marlene Meyerson JCC Manhattan's online Bridge classes and learn from Peter Steinberg and his team of experts! Stimulate your brain and hone your skills in this fun learning environment.
Our Bridge club includes lessons, pre-typed notes, accessible recorded sessions, weekly quizzes, and the ability to email our panel with questions.
You may register for either monthly class to attend any of the sessions that month. Please register in advance and the program link will be sent to you.
We host a variety of recreational activities for those interested in fun and social connection. Come find your niche!
We offer multiple levels of classes for Mah Jongg, Canasta, Bridge, and Chess. These classes will teach you the rules of the game, as well as the strategy behind it. Once you’ve mastered your favorite game, or if you would like to practice what you learned in class, join us for Supervised Play or Mondays in the Card + Game room.

Peter Steinberg (Bridge)
Peter Steinberg has been a full-time bridge teacher for more than 45 years. He began his career at Edgar Kaplan’s Card School, and then went on to become the Head Instructor at the Colony Bridge Club. the Manhattan Bridge Club, the Beverly Bridge Club, and he also taught at Honors. All of the aforementioned clubs are or were located in Manhattan. He has taught at a multitude of northeastern country clubs and resort areas including Fairview, Westchester, Beach Point, Metropolis, Brae Burn, Fenway, Quaker Ridge, Hampshire, Rockrimmon, Edgewood, the Jersey Shore, and many more!
He has also taught extensively in Southern Florida. The list of clubs he ran bridge programs at include: Boca West, Hunters Run, Broken Sound, Highridge, Boca Rio, Eastpointe, The Falls, Palm Beach Polo, Banyan, Delray, and the Hamlet among many, many others.
Peter has taught more than 20,000 bridge classes, including more than 10,000 beginners and more than 70,000 players at more advanced levels. He has also been a bridge columnist and correspondent for a number of local newspapers, and has written two books on bridge.
Julie Azous (Mah Jongg)
Julie Azous is a skilled and patient mah jongg teacher with over 20 years’ experience. Her passion for the game has been called contagious by many of her students. Julie currently teaches at the JCC and other institutions, as well as privately around the city.
